Unique Norfolk Venues is the only collection of privately-owned, beautiful venues in Norfolk. Our venues are chosen specifically because they offer something distinctive and exclusive – from a spectacular 14th-century medieval gatehouse to a contemporary renovated barn with rustic charm. We are excited to be recruiting for the role of Maintenance Operative.
The position of Maintenance Operative will be conducting regular maintenance on all venues and accommodation, on both a scheduled and call out basis.
Full driving licence is required
The Role
- To have a strong understanding of what makes successful venues, to ensure our sites are running with maximum efficiency.
- Ensure that our venues and accommodation are safe and welcoming environments for guests and employees.
- Take responsibility for general maintenance in our Unique Norfolk Cottages and Unique Norfolk Venues properties.
- Regularly attend sites to provide a point of contact for contractors and other suppliers.
- Respond to calls quickly and efficiently to fix any problems that have been identified.
- Out of hours responsibility – either responding via a call out, or organising appropriate parties i.e. an external contractor.
- Regularly conducting quality checks across all venues.
- A strong focus and understanding of health and safety.
Experience
- Experience working in maintenance and / or construction
- Working across different sites
- Working with a wide range of suppliers, contractors and stakeholders
- Health and safety, fire safety, risk assessments
- Working with old and / or listed buildings
- Working with high end property
Skills and Qualities
- Driving licence
- Any relevant qualifications in building and property maintenance and / or construction
- Organisational skills
- ‘Can do’ attitude, willing to get ‘hands on’
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks across a range of simultaneous projects
- Problem solving skills
- Professional, approachable with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Good written and spoken communication skills
