In a wedding season that went by in the blink of an eye – it was time for Oxnead Hall to shut for the winter for more wonderful and exciting renovation works. The last wedding of the year was a fantastic affair – Sophie and Oren tied the knot on Thursday 27th October 2016.

In seasonal style Sophie decorated The Great Barn beautifully with pumpkins, autumn foliage and atmospheric candles. Jay’s Fleurs filled pumpkins with seasonal flowers to adorn the top table and the aisle for their ceremony blending the outside autumnal feel with the warm haven inside (thank goodness for under floor heating!).

Having set up the venue by early afternoon on Wednesday, Sophie, Oren and their closest family and friends who were staying at Oxnead Hall, settled in and readied themselves for their evening meal where we provided a 2 course dinner for the guests in The North Wing Carriage Room – the perfect location for intimate dinners.

Thursday morning quickly came around Sophie and her bridesmaids prepared in the bridal suite, perfectly overlooking the courtyard so they could see the guests assembling ready for the ceremony at 1pm in The Long Room. Oren was waiting patiently for his bride, looking dapper in brown tweed.

Post ceremony the weather held meaning guests could enjoy the Orangery Gardens whilst sipping Pimms + Prosecco and the delicious canapés were devoured in record time. Sophie and Oren snuck away for some wonderful photographs in the grounds, before it was time for the wedding breakfast. Norfolk Ham Hock Terrine, Salted Cauliflower, Pickled Cucumber, Piccalilli dressing was to start, Braised Brisket of Sandringham Red Poll Beef followed and Valhrona Chocolate Pudding with Pistachio Ice Cream finished the meal. Speeches then followed before it was time for Breakthrough to get the party rocking.

Sophie and her talented mother made the wedding cake – which looked and smelt divine, and this was cut just before their first dance. Hog Roast and Cheese and Biscuits stopped any rumbling stomachs and midnight was soon upon them.

A massive thank you to Rock and Rose Photography for these wonderful images, it was a pleasure to work with you.
