On Saturday 27th June Oxnead Hall opened their gates to Ben and Pippa and their wedding guests, the sun shone down all day and it was truly sweltering. The gardens were in full bloom, perfect for a summer’s day wedding.
Ben and Pippa checked into The Estate on Friday and helped put their personal touches to the venue. From the boat that provided the signage to guide guests around the venue, to the flowers filling The Great Barn from The Little Flower Shop and the beautiful personalised place names.
The Great Event Company erected the clear span marquee over the courtyard at Oxnead Hall, it looked wonderful and created another event space for the day’s celebrations. Their wedding cake, created by a very talented friend took centre stage in the marquee and the venue was ready for the next day’s celebrations.
On Friday evening Ben, Pippa and their nearest and dearest dined together in The Orangery and watched the sun set behind the lake, relaxing before the big day ahead.
Saturday came and Pippa and her bridal party prepared themselves in the 4 poster bridal suite within Oxnead Hall, leaving the Estate to get married in their local church at 1pm. It was then back to Oxnead Hall for all the guests, with Pimms and Champagne welcoming them on arrival. Ben and Pippa followed shortly after in their wonderful car provided by The Marriage Carriage Company after some photographs at the church.
The weather was perfect and the wet weather contingency plan didn’t even get a look in, the guests mingled in The Orangery and through the ornamental gardens. Guests were provided with a selection of canapés to choose from such as smoked Mackerel Roulade with Horseradish Cream on Croute or Ham Hock with Picalilli.
Acoustic music followed from The Festial Foxes at The Orangery for an hour whilst guests explored the venue and photos of the wonderful couple and guests were taken by our fabulous recommended supplier; DK Photography.
Around 4 o’clock guests were guided up to The Great Barn for the speeches and wedding breakfast. Here they were treated to; Simon Letzer’s locally Smoked Salmon with foraged Norfolk Marsh Samphire and a Tomato, Shallot and Lemon Concasse followed by Apple, Cider and Herb Bangers with Spring Onion Champ Mash, Summer Greens and Caramelised Onion Gravy.
A cake table was ready for guests to devour in The Long Room with a variety of cakes created by Pippa’s friends. It was a short time before their evening guests arrived and The Festival Foxes kicked off the entertainment and continued long into the evening, with all the guests up and dancing to their brilliant music. Their big day was caught on film by the fabulous guys at Capture Media, we cannot wait to see the finished product, it will as always be spectacular particularly as there was so much to see and experience at Pippa and Ben’s wedding.
Ben and Pippa were both exceptionally wonderful to work with and their day was truly wonderful, we wish them all the best for all those happy times still to come in the years ahead.
