Saturday 25th July 2015 welcomed the soon to be Mr and Mrs Bacon to Oxnead Hall for their eagerly awaited wedding day.
Friday rolled around, and Sophie and her bridesmaids came down to Oxnead to start making the preparations for the big day, Roxanne from Flowers by Roxanne provided the beautifully filled Jam Jars that formed the centre pieces and the large arrangement that adorned the gift table. With Sophie’s bright pink colour scheme evident throughout on all the small details like the ribbons attaching the slate nametags to each guest’s cutlery. The barn looked so elegant and tranquil!
The fabulous Penny at Little Lending Company then arrived with a whole selection of goodies – some wonderful chairs and lots of garden games to entertain the guests in the sunshine on Saturday!
Friday evening it was time for Sophie and James to relax with their friends and families across the Oxnead Hall Estate’s accommodation, their home from home for the weekend. Saturday morning arrived and brought with it blazing sunshine – what a beautiful day to get married. With their ceremony was at their local church at 1pm, it was a leisurely morning of getting ready for the day ahead. James surprised Sophie with a thoughtful box of gifts and she couldn’t wait to meet him at the altar.
After a wonderful ceremony, Mr and Mrs Bacon arrived at Oxnead Hall to be greeted by all their guests on top of the original ruins of the house overlooking the ornamental maze, with glasses full of Prosecco, fresh lemonade and cider – perfect for a summer day. It was then time to mingle, take photographs and enjoy some fresh popcorn from Aurora Wedding and Events, delicious!
It was then time for the afternoon tea, with a selection of freshly made sandwiches and pastries coming out first, followed by scones, brownies, carrot cake and lemon posset to satisfy those sweet tooth’s, all washed down with Prosecco and lemonade. Yum! James then took his stand at the front of The Great Barn to make his speech, bringing a tear to the eye of quite a few.
The evening was then into full swing, with the Band Panama, providing some excellent music, Sophie and James took to the dance floor for their first dance and cut the cake provided by Little Millie’s which by all the guests opinions was fantastic! The Hog Roast was served at 9pm for anyone who could fit anymore food in!
What a beautiful day for a fantastic couple – we absolutely loved hosting your big day for you!
