The bank holiday weekend rolled round in a flash and Oxnead Hall opened it’s doors to the second wedding of the season post refurbishment – it was time for Nicolle and Matthew’s big day!

A Great Gatsby themed extravaganza was about to take place. Friday came around and The Barn was transformed, drapes hung between the beams, silver table cloths and mirrored vases filled with purple and pink flowers created an exciting atmosphere. Customised chocolates were left as favours for the guests and a mirrored table plan formed the final piece of the Great Gatsby experience.

It was clear to see how excited both Nicolle and Matt were to be saying their vows the following day, and accompanied by their family and friends they checked in to Oxnead Hall ready for the big day on Saturday.

Nicolle, her bridesmaids and family were up bright and early to start the preparations for the big day. The morning passed quickly and it was soon time for Nicolle to meet Matt at the altar in Oxnead Hall’s Church at 12:30 (or a few minutes later hey Nicolle haha).

After a beautiful ceremony, confetti throw and photographs it was time for canapés and arrival drinks in the formal gardens. Bellini’s refreshed the guests and canapés of Slow Cooked Pork Cheeks with Apple, Spiced Cajun Chicken with Sour Cream, Spiced Aubergine and Cumin Fritters and Mediterranean Vegetable Frittatas were enjoyed. The Blythe String Quartet provided beautiful background music throughout the reception whilst the guests mingled in the sunshine!

It was then time for the three-course wedding breakfast where guests enjoyed a selection of seasonal dishes such as Pot Roasted Breast of Chicken Served with Roasted Root Vegetables, Cocotte Potatoes and Lemon Thyme Jus, Roast Rump of English Lamb with a Confit of Button Onions, Creamed Leeks and Goose Fat Roast Potatoes and White Chocolate Crème Brule to name but a few things. Following this it was time for the eagerly awaited (or very nervously awaited in Matt & David’s case) speeches, there were many tears when Matt took the floor to thank the guests, their families and his beautiful new wife. There were also many head in hand moments when best man Dan reeled of some entertaining tales about Nicolle and Matt – it’s always a good sign for a speech when the whole room is hysterically laughing and the bride and groom are hiding their faces!

A little bit of downtime followed with a chance for guests to relax in the sunshine whilst Nicolle and Matt and their fantastic photographer Andy Davison explored the expansive gardens at Oxnead Hall and snapped away some phenomenal photographs.

50 extra guests arrived in the evening to party the night away and Nicolle and Matt cut their cake and had their first dance as a married couple! Fish and chip cones provided fuel for the evening whilst guests danced along to DJ Tony of The Right Music and snapped silly photo’s of themselves in the fantastic Photobooth provided by Yourselfie.

It was a beautiful day, for a wonderful couple whose love for each other was so clear for all to see. All the best for a fantastic future – we are sure that it will be full of endless fun!

A massive thank you also to Andy Davison for these fantastic photographs, a pleasure to work with you, as always.
