On Saturday 13th June The Great Barn at Manor Mews hosted the wonderfully personal and entertaining wedding of Laura and Alec.
As is becoming so popular at Manor Mews now, with their ample onsite accommodation (over 60 people can stay!!), Laura and Alec, their family and friends arrived at Manor Mews on Friday 12th June to settle into their homes for the weekend. The barn began taking shape into their dream wedding venue with all of their wonderful personal touches and by Friday evening the venue was set and ready for the celebrations to begin.
Despite some wonderful days of weather in the week coming up to the wedding, if you remember back to that Saturday – the heavens opened!
The guests arrived at The Barn under umbrella’s and if they were lucky during the brief breaks in the rain. Luckily the rain just stopped in time for Laura to make her entrance into The Barn for the Civil Ceremony at 2pm. It was a lovely ceremony for a couple who are so perfectly suited and make each other so happy.
Thankfully the weather had dried out and the skies had brightened so the wedding party threw confetti over Laura and Alec on the patio and then enjoyed some canapés, drinks and mingled in the garden. At 4:30 the wedding guests were seated as it was time for Afternoon Tea followed by the excellent speeches before the celebrations really kicked off.
After the wedding breakfast the evening guests started to arrive and the ‘New Town Kings’ band began playing – the atmosphere was electric. The hog roast, fruit cake (literally carved fruit – amazing!) and cup cakes which were both made by some very talented friends of Laura and Alec’s filled everyone up come 9 o’clock giving them the energy to dance the night away.
All here at Unique Norfolk Venues would like to say thank you, for such a wonderful day, Laura and Alec and their entire wedding party were a pleasure to work with. We wish you all the best for a fabulous future together.
Also a thank you to Charlee Rowton for the lovely photographs of Laura and Alec’s special day.
