Saturday 16th July was the long awaited day for Gemma and Jason to tie the knot at Oxnead Hall. Having fallen in love with the venue back in Spring 2015 pre refurbishment, it was an exciting time for Gemma and Jason in the run up to their wedding to see all the changes that had taken place.

It’s hard to believe that it is August already – hasn’t this year just gone so quickly, and the weeks keep flying by. With Friday soon arriving and Gemma and her entourage coming to put all the finishing touches in place ready for the big day. Fairy lights adorned the side beams in The Great Barn, bunting hung delicately around the Barn and centrepieces of flowers, logs and candles filled the tables.

Saturday came and Gemma and Jason got married in their local church a short drive from Oxnead Hall. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was clear to see how ecstatic the couple were to finally be tying the knot.

Guests arrived at Oxnead at 4:30, greeted in the gardens a deluge of rain – which thankfully blew over quickly and allowed the guests to enjoy a selection of afternoon tea style canapés from our fantastic recommended supplier Select Cakes, Tea and Coffee and Cloudy Lemonade. Mengistu Etim, another recommended supplier of ours, mingled with the guests and his caricatures proved extremely popular. Festival Foxes entertained the guests with their fantastic vocals and the sun started to shine. What an contrasting afternoon!

Shortly after 6pm the guests were guided up to The Great Barn and greeted with a glass of fizzy rose or orange juice ready for the speeches. Jason – was rather nervous, but did a fantastic job and brought tears to the eyes of many guests – a good reaction – it’s crystal clear to see how devoted to each other Gem & Jase are! It was then time for the food – Gemma and Jason had a vision in their minds from the moment they booked Oxnead, they wanted a relaxed fun and informal wedding day and they translated this perfectly. With a pizza van (Broadside Pizza’s), hog roast provided by UNV, ice cream cart (Matt Bennecci) , sweet stall, popcorn and candy floss (Aurora Wedding and Events) it was the perfect outdoor feast.

The food carts stayed late into the evening to provide food to fuel the guests whilst they danced away the evening to Festival Foxes. In The Long Room was a chill out area for guests away from the music, in here was a wonderful slideshow from Gemma’s daughter of a selection of the family’s favourite moments, what a lovely idea!

The evening went so quickly and it was soon time for guests to leave, whilst Gemma and Jason retired to Hall Cottage to enjoy a mini-moon at Oxnead Hall for the weekend. What a wedding!

What a day! A massive thank you to Chris Taylor Photography and Apricot Productions for these wonderful images and soon to come video, you were a pleasure to work with.
