Oxnead Hall hosted the wedding of David and Nadia on Saturday 30th July 2016. Their wedding weekend kicked of on Friday with Nadia, David and their entourage descending on Oxnead to turn the venue into their dream wedding!
With a summer colour scheme the barn looked fresh, with beautiful Florals from La Belle Flowers and an abundance of candles and large light up tree’s surrounding the top table from Biddy’s – it was beautiful. Bunting lined the driveway creating a pretty spectacular entrance to the estate, what a great effort from the ushers and Best Man to put this up and a lovely surprise. There were so many personal touches to the day like the Sloe Gin as the favours and links to their professions like the bunson burner and flask centrepieces.
When Saturday morning rolled around the guests were well rested and excited for the day ahead. As a surprise for Nadia, David organised a Bag Piper to welcome the guests to the Church it was a fantastic and sweet idea and created a great atmosphere. Nadia looked absolutely breath-taking in her custom made Katrine Mogenson dress and David was one lucky gentleman waiting at the altar for her! The ceremony took place in Oxnead Hall’s onsite church at 1:30 and was a traditional and wonderful service. After a few confetti photographs to capture the first moment as a married couple it was time for drinks at the Orangery. Blackberry and Elderflower Pimms and Champagne were refreshing and a large selection of canapés such as Tiger Prawn Tempura with Sweet Chilli Dipping Sauce and Summer Berry Tarts were enjoyed.
Nadia and David then snuck away for some spectacular photographs around the grounds of Oxnead and another surprise of David’s was a vintage Rolls Royce from Vintage Occasions for them to have a little drive around in to escape the madness for a second and revel in their newlywed status! It was then time to head to the Great Barn and enjoy the onslaught of laughter from the speeches. Dinner was served and the menu was delicious even if we do say so ourselves – the highlight being the Hogs Pudding with Sweet Pea Veloute, Crackling and Truffle Oil!
Garden games entertained guests before it was time to cut the amazing cake that was hand painted and filled with Chocolate Brownie, Lemon and Rose and Carrot Cake. The first dance followed which was ‘Bonfire Heart’ performed by The Sally Taylor Band, who were fantastic and kept the party atmosphere alive and kicking all night, the only break in dancing was when Broadside Pizza’s served up their wood fired pizzas in the Courtyard under the last light of the summer night – yum!
