After a July that went from being the hottest to the wettest in the space of a few weeks, August was proving to be a beautiful month. Mid August rolled around and the forecast looked great for Rob and Rosanna’s big day at Oxnead Hall. The sun shone almost all day, and late into the evening so guests could enjoy the wonderful gardens and see the wonderful sunset.
On Friday Rob and Rosanna checked into The Hall and Cottages with their friends and family and put the final finishing touches to the venue ready for their vows on Saturday 15th August. The Great Barn was adorned with butterflies and bright colours and The Long Room decorated with a beautiful archway under which Rob and Rosanna were to say their wedding vows, both rooms filled with beautiful flowers by Elizabeths the Florists.
Saturday morning came around in a flash, with Rob Buttle Photography arriving to capture all the special moments of the day. Mellie Makes Cakes delivered the elegant cake and guests started to arrive ready to witness the marriage of Mr and Mrs Gepp.
At 2pm the beautiful Rosanna walked down the aisle to meet her soon to be husband and after a lovely 30 minute ceremony they were officially married. Guests then flowed down to The Orangery where they were treated to Pimms and Prosecco and a selection of canapés.
After a period of mingling and time for some photographs in the breathtaking Oxnead Hall gardens, it was time for the guests to take their seats for the wedding breakfast.
Guests had the choice from a delectable menu;
Starter: Cream of Butternut Squash Soup with Toasted Pine Nuts or Salad of Roasted Chicken Fillet Bois Boudran with Tarragon and Chervil.
Main Course: Roast Rump of English Lamb with Confit of Button Onions, Creamed Leeks and Goose Fat Roast Potatoes or Homemade Vegetable Lasagna with Dressed Italian Rocket, Tomato Dressing and Pecorino.
Dessert: Valrhona Chocolate Pudding with Pistachio Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce or Seasonal Fresh Fruit Salad.
Between the delicious main course and the chocolate sensation of dessert were the lovely speeches and once dinner was finished it was time to cut the cake and dance the first dance. Rob and Rosanna had Willowspin Ceilidh Band for the evening, keeping the guests dancing all night. At 8:30pm an Indian Buffet was then served along with a wide selection of Cheese and Biscuits to keep guests fuelled for the rest of the evening.
